Brazilian Carnaval World Cup at the Club Nokia in Downtown LA

This past weekend, Brazilian Nites hosted the annual Brazilian Carnaval at the Club Nokia in Downtown LA. I was there with a large group of friends, plus I had a special pass to photograph the event.

Later this year, I’ll be heading down to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup so this was a good warm up for me. I really loved the music, colors and all the dancing. The night was full of nonstop energy. And being able to photograph it for SocalDailyPhoto was a special treat.

In addition to the photo above, we added a full gallery of pictures from that night at our main photo site OCPix in the events section. If you were there that night you might want to look through them all, chances are you might see yourself!

Green Chevy Camaro Hotwheels at the 2011 L.A. Auto Show

2011 LA Auto Show

Green Chevy Camaro Hotwheels at the 2011 L.A. Auto Show

Yesterday I headed over to the 2011 L.A. Auto Show, it was the second day of the week-long event. As usual the crowds were large, but so is the event making it for a full day adventure.  One of the popular cars was created by Chevy when they partnered up with Hot Wheels to create this green Camaro.

The green Chevy Camaro was designed to look like a Hot Wheels 1:64 scale car coming down a Hot Wheels orange/red ramp, like the popular toy sets. However, here we were able to experience the car in it’s full size. In some ways, we the viewers were now miniaturized to the size of the Hot Wheels car!

Overall, the L.A. Auto Show is always fun to attend. If you get a chance to visit, this year’s event runs through November 27, 2011. There’s also a few 2011 LA Auto Show discounts, so be sure to see those before you arrive to save on the admission.

Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran acoustic concert

Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran during a special acoustic show at the Grammy Museum – 2011.

My wife and I spent the evening tonight at a special acoustic show featuring Simon from Duran Duran. Event was held at the Grammy Museum at LA Live in downtown LA. Under 100 people in attendance and of course my wife was thrilled.

With my Canon G12, I was able to capture a few pictures and videos of the event. Because I didn’t want to use flash, I pushed the ISO to 1600, that’s why the photo above has so much noise (specs). The stage was set up with very little light, so I had no choice.
