Final Day of 2011 US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach

Wide angle shot of the 2011 US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach.

Today in Huntington Beach was the final day of the US Open of Surfing and the crowds must have been at least 10 to 15 thousand people at least! I was there taking US Open Surfing photos for OCSurfpix.com website but it proved to be a challenging task.

With thousands of people watching and trying to get the best positions for photos, those of us who where there primarily to take images found ourselves having to work hard for those same spots.

Kelly Slater ended up winning the competition, in fact you can see him in the water with the white t-shirt. Click on image to see it in it’s original size. You can also see a full gallery here by another local photo site.
